HUNDRED PERCENTERS
19 October 2008 |
Some of our teams will grow throughout the season and take the plaudits come May. But this week we're celebrating the sides that have got off to a flier.
No fewer than four Brockham teams extended their 100% records this weekend.
In their last season, the U16Bs are looking for a glorious finish. They've certainly started well. A 4-0 win at league leaders Steyning, saw the |

The U10s - two wins out of two for the Whites
|
Badgers replace their opponents at the top of the table with four wins out of four.
The U13Bs, playing in the Epsom and Ewell League for the first time, also maintained maximum points with a fourth win at Nutfield. The U12Bs cracked in seven goals against Kirdford, to make it five straight wins at the start of their season. And the signs are also encouraging for the U10 Whites in their second game of the season - a second win, this time at home to Albury.
Congratulations also to the U13As, competing in the Surrey Youth Premier Elite League. They welcomed one of the top sides in Surrey/South London to the Big Field - Tooting and Mitcham Juniors - and recorded a 2-0 win. Just two years ago, Brockham lost 5-0 to the same team in a cup match....a mark of how far Simon Coffey's side have progressed in recent seasons.

ANOTHER GIANT BITES THE DUST
14 October 2008 |
The term 'giantkilling' was invented for results like these......
In the performance of the week, the U13Bs of the Epsom & Ewell Second Division went to Premier Division Roundshaw Colts in the League Cup. They came away with a 7-2 victory and a place in the next round, after playing some scintillating football that, quite rightly, had manager Duncan Hanwell glowing with pride. Each member of the team deserves credit - but |

a special mention goes to Daniel Hetzel, who scored five goals - four of them in the first half. Read the match report and Duncan's comments here.
Elsewhere, the U9As made it two straight wins at the start of their Tadworth League season, and the U14Bs and U10 Reds can take credit for improved play, although their efforts weren't rewarded with results. The U12As continued their strong start to life in the Surrey Youth League with another home win, and the U13As can consider themselves unfortunate to have come away without any points from their Surrey Youth Premier Elite clash at Hayes Youth.

PROVING A POINT
5 October 2008 |
Congratulations to the U15Bs who notched up their first point of the season this weekend. Moving up a division after promotion in the Horsham & District League was never going to be easy, but their hard work has started to pay off after a 3-3 draw with Forest Row.
Meanwhile the U12s are going from strength to strength. After moving into the highly competitive Surrey Youth League, the U12As |

can feel proud of another convincing victory - 5-1 at home to AFC Epsom Colts. And the Bs made it four wins out of four, with a 12-0 win at Ewhurst that puts them eight points clear at the top of the Hiosham D Division.
In the 7-a-side mini-soccer leagues, the U10 Blues got their campaign off to a flyer - with a 6-0 win over Walton Warriors on the Big Field.
