A CHILL WIND BLOWS SOME GOOD
25 November 2008

As the arctic winds blew across the Big Field, despite the conditions, the U11s enjoyed their best-ever weekend.

The U11 Meteors won! It was their first victory of the season...and for some of the boys, their first league win in more than two years. It's a tribute to their dedication - and that of their Manager Simon Haines - that they've been turning out in all weathers, despite the results,

and their first three-points are richly deserved. Same again next Saturday boys?

Well done also to the U10 Reds, who notched up their first league win in style - a 4-1 home win over Tadworth B.

Meanwhile the U13As found out how tough it can be at the top. They were beaten by last year's Surrey Youth League Premier Elite Champions, AFC Wimbledon...but they're still well-placed in their first season in the top division.

Elsewhere, there were wins for the U16Bs, U14 Girls, U13Bs, U12As, U12Bs and U11 Comets.

THIRTEENS AT THE DOUBLE
17 November 2008

An excellent weekend for our U13s, as both the A and B teams put in top class performances and earned their rewards.

The U13As (pictured right), who play at the highest level of any Brockham team, took on Epsom Eagles in the Surrey Youth Premier Elite - and came away with a 4-1 victory. They're now in the top four.

The U13Bs had an Epsom and Ewell League Cup match. Despite facing Horley Town, who top a higher division, it was Brockham Badgers who booked their place in the quarter finals with a fantastic 5-3 win.

NEW TREASURER APPOINTED
10 November 2008

Following the recent advertising of a vacancy, Brockham Badgers is delighted to announce that Susanna Vakeva-Baird has kindly stepped forward and volunteered to take on the role. She was appointed at a recent Management Committee meeting.

It's fantastic for the future of Brockham Badgers to have a new volunteer parent on board to help the club move forward and achieve its goals. Retiring Treasurer Martin Bangs will now take on a new role as Head of Special Projects, spearheading the club's development plans. Welcome Susanna!

BLAZING GLORY
9 November 2008

On Sunday morning, as the embers of the Brockham Bonfire died down on the Village Green, the football was blazing firey and hot on the Big Field.

In the sort of contest that the words "seventeen goal thriller" were invented for, the U12As booked their place in the third round of the Surrey Cup with a 10-7 victory over Hampton Manor.

The weekend also saw good league wins for the U11 Comets and U9As...as well as particularly courageous performances from the U11 Meteors and U9Bs.

HALF TERM ACTION
2 November 2008

(Click on picture for full-screen version)

While our Horsham League squads have been enjoying a half-term break, it's been business as usual elsewhere.

In the Surrey Youth League, the U12As and U13As netted no fewer than thirteen times between them, without reply. The U12s followed that up with a good cup victory this weekend. And there have been good mini-soccer wins in the Tadworth League for the U9As and the U10 Whites, who stay top of their league with three wins out of three.

HUNDRED PERCENTERS
19 October 2008

Some of our teams will grow throughout the season and take the plaudits come May. But this week we're celebrating the sides that have got off to a flier.

No fewer than four Brockham teams extended their 100% records this weekend.

In their last season, the U16Bs are looking for a glorious finish. They've certainly started well. A 4-0 win at league leaders Steyning, saw the

The U10s - two wins out of two for the Whites

Badgers replace their opponents at the top of the table with four wins out of four.

The U13Bs, playing in the Epsom and Ewell League for the first time, also maintained maximum points with a fourth win at Nutfield. The U12Bs cracked in seven goals against Kirdford, to make it five straight wins at the start of their season. And the signs are also encouraging for the U10 Whites in their second game of the season - a second win, this time at home to Albury.

Congratulations also to the U13As, competing in the Surrey Youth Premier Elite League. They welcomed one of the top sides in Surrey/South London to the Big Field - Tooting and Mitcham Juniors - and recorded a 2-0 win. Just two years ago, Brockham lost 5-0 to the same team in a cup match....a mark of how far Simon Coffey's side have progressed in recent seasons.
